Description
SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE-60TH ANNIVERSARY BOOK The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Stennis Space Center (SSC) is seeking capability statements for the researching and writing a scholarly book-length history of SSC, with the intention of publication in the NASA History Series. The book shall focus on the time period since Mack R. Herring's Way Station to Space: A History of the John C. Stennis Space Center was published in 1997, with additional updating and revising of that book. This likely new history project would focus on the social history aspects of how SSC was constructed with the relocation of five towns and other local history aspects over the past approximately 60 years. NASA anticipates that the research and writing of the historical manuscript would take approximately 2 ½ years, to ensure time for production into a printed book before SSC's 60th anniversary in 2021. Stennis Space Center will administer the basic agreement. Based upon information submitted by companies, NASA will determine the final content of the future solicitation(s). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is, 541720, Research & Development in the Social Sciences and Humanities, with a size standard of $20.5 million. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS; THEREFORE, DO NOT REQUEST A COPY OF THE SOLICITATION. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps). It is not sufficient to provide only general brochures or generic information; please provide details on how you could support SSC with this specific historical project.
