- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for trail maintenance work on the Black Hills National Forest near Rapid City and Nemo, South Dakota. The Government contemplates using Simplified Acquisition Procedures to solicit and issue a Purchase Order for this effort with an expected magnitude of between $25000 and $100000. Contract Sequence of Events 1 July - FBO Synopsis - Posted Note, Primary POC is on annual leave until 12 July. Just please list yourself as an interested bidder or send an email wth your intentions and questions. All questions and concerns will be ansered after the middle of July. I plan to publish an amendment at that time with more details on the site visit and on anything else that comes up. Tentative Pre-bid Site Visit : 1 August, 2017 meeting at Nemo, SD. The pre-bid site visit is mandatory since there are several miles of trail and you will need the Government representative to explain the scope of work clearly. We will confirm this date later this month with an amendment and personal contact if I have you on the interested bidders list. If you are an interested bidder, please send your contact info to the Contracting Officer and confirm your intentions on being there. Bids Due : August 10 - email highly preferred Contract Award: a few days afterwards - most likely the next week Notice to Proceed : late August Period of Performance: Negotialble but planning - Sept - Oct, 2017 Scope of Work: This project reconstructs and places aggregate on 3.1 miles of existing ATV route on the Centennial Trail (NFST 8089) and repairs a short section of Iceman (NFST 8284) Trail. The work on the Centennial Trail consist of five sections of trail starting at NFSR 678.1E and continuing south on Centennial Trail to NFSR 152.2C. The total length of the five segments of trail to reconstruct and gravel is 3.1 miles of the overall trail length of 5.0 miles. Project Location: Project is located in two areas: The Centennial Trail work is located approximately 15 miles northwest of Rapid City SD near Nemo SD on the Black Hills National Forest. From Nemo County Road take CTY 140.1 for 0.5 miles to the Box Elder Forks Trailhead which is also the location of the start of trail reconstruction Section 2. The Iceman Trail is located approximately 4 miles east of Nemo SD on the Black Hills National Forest. From Nemo take Nemo County Road No. 404 north for 0.2 miles to FH 26. Travel.2 miles north on FH 26 to FSR 144. Take FSR 144 east for 3 miles to 8283. Take 8283 for 2.5 miles to Iceman (8284) Trail.
