- Page 2 of 2 version 0001 Dated 05/02/2016 SOURCES SOUGHT The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to search for contractors capable of providing the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS), Nashville and York campus, with two (2) Medical Technologist (VA249-17-N-0905) at each location. Period of Performance: BASE PERIOD-- 01 October 2017 through 30 September 2018, with four (4) option years. Medical Technologist will perform stat and routine testing in the laboratory at the Nashville and/or York campus of the VA TVHS Healthcare System in the areas of specimen processing, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, basic microbiology and blood bank. Medical Technologist will perform patient/unit blood compatibility testing and issue compatible blood and blood products if required. All licenses held by the personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Staffing and shift requirements will ensure adequate coverage on off-tour shifts from 3:30p.m. - 7:00a.m., seven days a week. Both contractors at each location will be on evening shift, primarily 3:30p.m.-11:30p.m., with occasional 11p.m.-7a.m. based upon needs of the service or when there are acute staffing needs. Coverage on the weekends and holidays will be covered on an alternating basis on the same schedule as VA staff; frequency could change. Each 8-hour shift will include two 15-minute rest periods (breaks). Nonetheless, if vacancies are filled by permanent employees, the service will have the option to reduce the number of Medical Technologists contracted in accordance to the vendor s published policy for minimum service length. This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bids, Request for Quotations, or a Request for Proposal. Do not submit a proposal or quote in response to this notice. This notice is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation nor does it restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this sources sought. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding and the Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to the notice. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this market research will be the outcome of a competitive process. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted, or otherwise sensitive information contained in their response. Any interested business concerns with the capability to provide services must submit a capability statement addressing its ability to meet the requirements in the attached Performance Work Statement to Pretial Caston, Contracting Specialist, at pretial.caston@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm CDT July 28, 2017. Responses should contain VA249-17-N-0905 Medical Technologist TVHS in the subject line. Questions regarding this Sources Sought Notice are not permitted and will not be answered.
