Description

Notice of Intent to Single Source The VA Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22 submits a notice of intent to award a single-source, Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) fixed-price contract for services with a Certification Review Hearing Officer. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHS) requires a contractor to provide Certification Review Hearing services in accordance with California Welfare and Institutions Code, Sections 5256 through 5256.8. These services are required to determine if patients cared for within the in-patient psychiatry unit are required to remain in the locked unit beyond the initial 72-hour hold. Service: The contractor shall preside as Certification Review Hearing Officer over Certification Review Hearings scheduled by the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit of the Jerry L. Pettis VA Medical Center, 11201 Benton Street, Loma Linda, CA 92357 as required. The contractor shall comply with State and Federal law in regards to confidentiality of patient health records and information. Qualification: The contractor is certified and recognized as a court-appointed Certification Review Hearing Officer by the County of San Bernardino, California to conduct the Certification Review Hearings in accordance with California Welfare and Institutions Code, Sections 5256 through 5256.8. Hours: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm Period of Performance: Base Year: October 1, 2017 September 31, 2018 Option Year 1: October 1, 2018 September 31, 2019 Option Year 2: October 1, 2019 September 31, 2020 Option Year 3: October 1, 2020 September 31, 2021 Option Year 4: October 1, 2021 September 31, 2022 This single-source contracting action is pursuing a waiver from acquiring these services on a competitive basis pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(i) for the aforementioned requirement based on the application of FAR 6.302(a)(2)(ii). This hereby constitutes a synopsis of the action proposed in this announcement.
