Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New England District would like to invite dredging industry contractors to an Industry Day for Deep Draft Navigation Projects anticipated for construction in Fiscal Year 18-Fiscal Year 23. The event will be held at the New England District, 696 Virginia Road Concord, MA 1742, on August 11, 2017 from 10:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm in the District Theater. Check-in for the event will begin at 09:30 am. OVERVIEW The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, is preparing to improve multiple Federal navigation projects. Upcoming work will involve dredging, rock removal and material placement. The contract costs for all projects, when combined, are estimated to be $250-$350 million. The improvement projects are located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; New Haven, Connecticut; and Boston, Massachusetts. This event is not a marketing opportunity. The purpose and focus of the event will be to discuss project purpose, scope, schedule, environmental concerns, specific requirements, and listen to industry feedback. The event will include a presentation by New England District staff members giving current information regarding the projects, the use of Definitive Responsibility Criteria, expectations for Small Business Sub-Contracting Plans, Safety & Project Specific Requirements, Data Quality Management, and Schedule Management. All interested attendees must register by e-mail with USACE contracting personnel, Lennie K. Mattis at lennie.k.mattis@usace.army.mil by August 9, 2017. Registration must include names of individual attendees, company, day-time telephone number, e-mail address and role in the dredging industry. This is a non-fee event and seating is limited. This announcement is not a contract solicitation, a request for proposal of any sort, a promise to issue any future contracts, or a commitment to offer work of any kind on the part of the Government. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses for marketing efforts.
