- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Richland Operations Office (RL) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, 7122 West Okanogan #B, Kennewick, Washington 99336, for Law Enforcement Services for the Hanford Site (located in Benton County, Washington). The Benton County Sheriff's Office is the only law enforcement agency that can perform these duties. They have jurisdiction within Benton County to include civil and criminal law enforcement and oversight as well as local traffic enforcement. The Benton County Sheriff's Office is the local law enforcement agency. The responsibility for enforcement of local laws and state statues remains the responsibility of the local law enforcement agency as mentioned in 10 CFR 1047.4. This acquisition is classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 922120, Police Protection. There is no size standard defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration for this NAICS code. This notice is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The Government intends to issue a Request for Proposal on or about August 25, 2017. As a result of the Request for Proposal, the Government may award a fixed price contract for a period of one year with four one-year option years.
