- Masonry repair historic building solicitation, statement of work, historic masonry standards and clauses. Photos of Fulton Hall masonry needing repair The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), located in Kings Point, New York is looking for a qualified, licensed and insured contractor to provide labor, material, transportation, tools, equipment and supervision to repoint a small area of the Fulton Hall Machine Shop Building. The subject area is above the classroom windows and measures approximately 4 ft. high x 40 ft. long. The selected contractor will be responsible for the following(see statement of work and other documents for all requirements of this procurement): Test a minimum of three mortar samples from the building in order to determine the composition of the original mortar. Before commencing work, Contractor shall provide a mockup sample to show that they are able to match the size, texture, gradation, and tooling methods of the original mortar. Clean the specified area per the Specification Section 04071702 Historic Masonry Cleaning. Repoint the area above the window per Specification Section 040701 Historic Masonry Repointing. Re-caulk the joints at both ends of the building using approved materials. Re-caulk around the three sets of windows using approved materials. This procurement is set aside for small business. Small businesses are defined as firms having $15 million or less in annual sales. NAICS Code 238140 Masonry Contractors All Federal government procurements require the awardee to be registered and current with Sam.gov at the time of award. Two site visits are available. The first will take place on July 27 at 10 AM, and the second take place on August 3, 2017 also at 10 AM on. The United States Merchant Marine Academy is located at: 300 Steamboat Rd.
