Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Network Contracting Office 19, Muskogee OK for Grand Junction Veterans Health Care System (GJVHCS) Instruction to Vendors: return completed questionnaire to monica.gary@va.gov by FBO response due date Purpose: The purpose of this notice is to receive confirmation from companies in the industry who can perform Services. Services: Winter & Summer Grounds Maintenance Services, including Grounds Housekeeping, with the intent of ensuring the grounds are Well-manicured, Clean and Safe throughout the location. Service outcomes must contribute to a Safe, Visual and Aesthetic Appeal, for all VA Medical Center visitors and staff. Services are to ensure cost effectiveness and service efficiency and in support of the VA Mission. Service Tasks: Description: Frequency Quantity Grounds Maintenance Includes mowing, lawn edging, landscape maintenance, sprinkler start up & blow down, plant maintenance/pruning, trimming/removal/pruning of trees, brush, shrub, hedges etc, leaf removal, weeding, plant weed and disease control, grounds/plant pest control (not inside VA). 7 months per year Grounds Housekeeping Includes drain cleaning, removal of waste-type items, paved pedestrian areas, litter and debris control, cleaning of pedestrian structures, portable outdoor furniture, site furnishings etc, stone and concrete walls, roadways and pavements 12 months per year Snow Removal Requires contractor be on site working within one (1) hour notice from VA, and when applicable, contractor is required to have snow cleared on critical areas before 7am (MDT). Estimated no more than 12 call outs for snow removal service per season Snow Pile Disposal Snow piles are estimated at 20 cubic yards, with approximately 5 disposals of this per season Estimated no more than 100 cubic yards per season Partial De-Icing Includes sidewalks only Estimated no more than 15 jobs per season Full De-Icing Includes all areas, such as sidewalks, streets and parking lots, roadways on VA property Estimated no more than 10 jobs per season Timeframes: Services would be required year-round on an annual recurring basis anticipated to commence late 2017 (winter). Successful contractor must be on site within one (1) hour notice of snow or ice service requirements, and often before Standard Business Hours commence, usually having services completed in critical areas by 7am (MDT). Winter & Summer Grounds maintenance, in general, to include mowing, weeding snow removal and ice prevention, at Grand Junction Veterans Health Care System has been performed by various contracted Contractors. Snow removal and ice removal has historically taken 2 hours, on average. Snow piles have historically been hauled off in truckloads.
