Description

This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE The US Department of Veteran Affairs, Minneapolis VA Health Care System Hereinafter referred to as (MVAHCS) located at 1 Veterans Drive Minneapolis, MN. 55417. Has one of the busiest Ophthalmology Services in the VA System. The MVAHCS has a newly remodeled and expanded Ophthalmology Department and is a state of the art facility. The MVAHCS estimates that clinic access increased by 18% from FY-2015 to FY-2016 and estimates the clinic access demands will continue to increase for 2017. The MVAHCS has a need for up to three (3) Opticians to staff ophthalmology clinics an estimated minimum of forty (40) hours each per week. The scope of optician services required includes: verifying prescriptions, measuring patients for properly fitting spectacles, making repairs and adjustments, performing measurement tasks, documenting bifocal heights, spectacle data, visual acuity, patient education, and performing other related duties as assigned. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 561320 with a size standard of 27.5 Million. The VA will award a firm, fixed price, commercial services contract. Contract use will be limited to Minneapolis, MN. 55417. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on or about 07-27-2017 and will be issued via FedBizOpps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (MVAHCS) requires these services to support their medical expertise and services. The contractor shall provide Items listed above. Questions regarding this solicitation must be in writing.
