Description
This is PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE The US Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN, hereinafter referred to as MVAHCS located at One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. The NAICS code assigned to this procurement will be 621511 with a size standard of $32.5 million. The VA will award a Single Award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity, commercial services contract. Contract use will be limited to Minneapolis VA Health Care System only. The solicitation will contain requirements for a 12 month base year with one (1) 12 month option to renew. Service will begin on November 1, 2017 through October 31, 2018 for the base year. The solicitation is scheduled to be issued on August 1, 2017 and will be issued via FedBizOpps Electronic Posting System at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System requires the services of a contractor to provide specialized specific diagnostic testing needs not provided by the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. Testing needs consist of laboratory test for virology culturing, unusual organism culturing, and molecular testing (polymerase chain reaction tests) looking for microorganisms that cause infection in patient specimens. To ensure proper oversight on the contract, quality of the testing and monitoring of the turnaround times, all the testing needs to be consolidated into one source (laboratory). These services require a CAP-certified, CLIA accredited laboratory. The contractor s laboratory must be able to provide services Monday through Saturday, and pick up specimens daily with an option for additional pick up requests by calling the courier. Questions regarding this solicitation must be in writing. Questions may be sent via email to: daniel.vagts@va.gov. Proposals must be submitted in writing to the issuing office, be in accordance with the preparation instructions outlined in the solicitation, and be timely.
