Description
The government intends to award a sole source contract to Prizmatix LTD, for the following list of items: UHP-T-455-EP: Ultra High Power LED head at 455nm w/ 1" collimating optics. for Electrophysiology microscope. UHP-T-520-EP: Ultra High Power LED (2x2nm sq. chip) head at 520nm w/1" collimating optics. Optimized for Electrophysiology microscope. UHP-T-595-EP: Ultra High Power LED LED-Array head at 595nm w/1" collimating options. Optimized for electrophysiology microscope. UHPTLCC: Benchtop UHP-T-LED current Controller. CW operation mode, external TTL input and Analog input for power control from D/A 90-5Vdc). Power Adaptor included. Multi-LED-BC: Beam controller for LED heads, includes dichroic mirror and connection pins. Mic-ADPT-Z: Zeiss microscope adaptor for LED head or Beam Controller. Mic-ADPT-O: Olympus microscope adaptor for LED head or Beam Controller. All LEDs and controllers must be capable of combining different wavelengths with high power LEDs and with controllers that are compatible with our existing software. Must be capable to ad optogenetic stimulation capabilities to an existing upright microscope and to activate or silence specific, genetically targeted inputs/outputs involving hippocampal circuitry. The ability to activate or inactivate known populations is important for deconstructing the complex circuits associated with neuronal activity in specific populations of neuron. Must be a high power system to allow for stimulation of neurons that express relatively low levels of channelrhodopsin, which is not possible with lower power-level devices. The added power also allows for multiple light wavelengths to be generated from the same device. The controller allows for precise timing of light stimulation.
