- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR INVITATION FOR OFFERORS TO SUBMIT BIDS. THIS NOTICE WILL BE POSTED FOR A MINIMUM OF 15 DAYS PRIOR TO POSTING OF THE SOLICITATION. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) anticipates issuance of solicitation IFBP05051700002 for the award of a firm fixed-price construction contract for the replacement of skylights at the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Carswell, Fort Worth, Texas. FMC Carswell is a federal correctional facility located at "J" Street, Building 3000, Fort Worth, Texas 76127. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials and labor for the complete construction of the work. The purpose of the project is to replace skylights. The work includes construction of the removal and replacement of aluminum framed skylight systems and all of the components. Removal of sloped skylight system panels and replace with new insulated fiberglass translucent sandwich panel skylight system. Removal of acrylic pyramidal skylight system and replace with new flat fiberglass single panels. Replace all glazing gaskets and sealants encompassing the sloped skylight/pyramidal skylight system. Replace all metal flashings associated with replacement of the skylight panels with aluminum flashing at twenty gauge thickness. All metal flashings shall be sealed to existing EPDM roof and pre-cast concrete walls. Replace the enture EPDM bladder type joint. See the Scope of Work attachment included with the solicitation posting (to be issued at a later date as described herein) for the complete requirements of the work. The performance period for the project will be 300 calendar days from issuance of the notice to proceed. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $250,000 and $500,000. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238160 with a corresponding small business size standard of $15 million. The solicitation will be available approximately on or about August 15, 2017, with an anticipated bid opening date of September 19, 2017. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Business Opportunities (FBO)website at www.fbo.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The website provides download instructions. Any secure/locked documents (if applicable) uploaded with the solicitation will require an active FBO vendor registration for access.
