Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source, fixed-price contract to the Georgia Tech Research Corporation under solicitation number 2017-N-67315. The CDC- Human Papillomavirus (HPV) laboratory has specimens from a number of HPV vaccination studies and cancer registries to conduct these studies using the HPV- Single Molecule Sequencing (SMS) genotyping test. The CDC HPV laboratory is currently one of two global reference laboratories, and these proposed studies using advanced molecular detection technologies and bioinformatics are essential to maintaining the global reference laboratory status of the CDC-HPV lab. Georgia Tech has unique expertise in genome analysis and genome annotation. It has also developed the proprietary software tools used in pioneering genome projects. It also has unique expertise in developing custom built pipelines for genome annotation where their original algorithms play a central role. Based on these unique experience, Georgia Tech Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics has been participating with CDC's National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Division of High Consequence Pathogens and Pathology, Chronic Viral Diseases Branch.
