Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Centers for Environmental Health Division of Laboratory Sciences intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to procure Z-1.3 Plus Evaporation System (Lead Power included) and Heat Transfer Plates to Genevac SP Scientific 815 Route 208, Gardiner NY 12525. The purpose is to replace old and inefficient equipment used by the flame retardants method. The Genevac EZ-2.3 Plus sample evaporation system is a vacuum centrifuge system which will allow for the control of concentrated samples. The system will also control the bumping of the samples and therefore prevent cross-contamination as it takes into account the solvent composition being evaporated and automatically adjusts the conditions of the evaporation process. It also allows for the samples to concentrate at the bottom of the reservoir due to centrifugal forces minimizing sample loss into the walls and allowing for more efficient reconstitution of samples. The instrument has pressure sensors to indicate the process has finished, eliminating periodic checking of the drying process and freeing time for the analyst to complete other tasks. The Genevac EZ-2.3 Plus is the only product that can perform the evaporation process in a controlled evaporation process using the Dri-Pure, Sample Shield and Cool Heat technologies. This is the only system its size that can guarantee no cross contamination of samples during the drying process. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instruments Manufacturing with size standard of 1000 employees. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses should be emailed to Mr. Philip Robinson at KKQ4@CDC.GOV using solicitation number. 2017-Q-67210 in the subject line no later than 9:00 am Eastern Standard Time, August 17, 2017.
