Description
This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a Solicitation and is not to be considered as a commitment by the Government. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request that will be considered for contract award. The information from this market research is for planning purposes only and will assist the Government in planning its acquisition strategy. This is strictly market research and the Government will not entertain questions concerning this market research. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334516. The intent of this notice is determine the availability of qualified commercial sources technically capable of providing the below: Rigaku NEX CG EDXRF Analyzer with Polarization Salient Characteristics: Is an indirect excitation energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometer. • Capable of analyzing all elements from Na - U on the periodic table using a unique combination of Bragg reflectors and Secondary Targets to produce highly polarized monochromatic excitation energies for four standard and a fifth optional energy transmission functions. o Si - Target ( optional) for enhanced Na and Mg sensitivity and Zn-Se for profile fitting o RX-9 Bragg reflector for Na - Cl K lines; Zn - Ru L lines o Cu Secondary Target - Ar - Cr K lines; Pd - Pm L Lines o Mo Secondary Target - Mn - Y K lines ; Sm - U L Lines o Al Secondary Target for Zr - Nd K lines • The variable excitation source from 5 - 50 V; 0.1 - 1mA increments allows for precise optimal excitation of the elements of interest using a 50 Watt maximum power rating. • The NEX CG can be used in routine mode for well -defined methods on well characterized samples that have available certified reference materials for calibration and the instrument response can be determined empirically. • The unique flowbar technology and embedded empirical method templates for fused beads, pressed powders, alloys, liquids and lose powders facilitates calibration and long term drift set up and enhances the ease of use for the end user and facilitates long term validation of the method. • Using FP, a semi-quantitative method of calibration that uses XRF equations to model the matrix and calculate element concentrations without the need for assayed standards o Rigaku scattering FP estimates the concentration of unobserved atomic number elements (H-F) and provides appropriate corrections o Rigaku Profile Fitting routine automatically de convolutes peaks in the spectrum • FP Templates included with the NEX CG RPF-SQX o Powders & Pellets o Fusion Bead o Polymer (including pellet or solid/powder) o Multi-layer Thin Films o Water, Oil & Liquids • The Rigaku UltraCarry product allows for ultra-sensitive analysis of elements in aqueous solutions and is very easy to use and to prepare samples for. Potential offers having the ability to provide the product described are invited to provide a statement via e-mail. The statements shall not exceed five (2) page and must include the following: 1) Company name and Point of Contact information (address, telephone, e-mail, web-site, etc.); 2) DUNS number and CAGE code; 3) Small Business Size/Certification (to include 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.); and 4) Ability to provide the product. Responses are due no later than 0700 EST, Friday, 04 August 2017, and shall be electronically submitted to Sherrilyn Rice at Sherrilyn.u.rice.civ@mail.mil.
