- Description
- Response Date: 07 September, 2017 The Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is supported by the Weapons Systems and Engineering Center (WSEC) who is the parent organization of the small arms fire control division and optics metrology laboratory. This laboratory is responsible for the measurement, analysis, and development and testing of optical systems for all small arms fire control programs within ARDEC. The impact of being accurate and precise in characterizing optical devices translates directly into the materiel that is purchased and fielded by the Army. Currently, ARDEC is in need of service, maintenance, calibration and sustainment support for areas including laser profiling devices, light source & collimation systems, self-contained optical profiling stations, radiometric and photometric configurations, environmental conditioning systems, photometric sensors and cameras, safety equipment for non-ionizing radiation applications, and associated components to retain proper functioning. Throughout the laboratory systems are both of commercial and developmental design and arrangements of numerous types of light sources and detection systems (visible, infrared, ultraviolet, and laser), complex fixturing hardware, motion controls and handling hardware, consumable parts, and other tangible areas where equipment maintenance, service, and/or calibrations are required. In the event service cannot be provided due to age of system (obsolescent) or cannot be maintain under average costs supplemental replacements may be needed to sustain the optical metrology competency. Firms/companies are invited to indicate their interests by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and any available GSA or other Federal Supply Schedule contract vehicles. In addition, please provide the firm's name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, and size of business (small/large) per the listed NAICs.
