Description
Synopsis: This is a Sources Sought Notice only. This does not constitute a solicitation. The information gathered from this request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only. The Government is not obligated, nor shall it pay for, any information received from potential sources as a result of this Sources Sought Notice. The purpose of this notice is to identify business entities capable of providing a Vortex Plus Macerator 220v waste management system, MFGR: Vernacare, MFGR #V45-300 (see below for salient charactoristics) brand name or equal (BNOE), to the Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, Veterans Health System. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) identifier for this commodity is 334510 Electro Medical and Electrotherapeutic Manufacturer. (Possibly NAICS 339-113 Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacture). The Department of Veternas Affairs is looking for Small Businesses and will give preference to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB s) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB s) who ARE registered in Vetbiz (VetBiz) and MUST be registered in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/). In your response to this notice, please provide the following information: Company Name/Address/Business Size/Point of Contact (Phone and Email)/ DUNS Number Capability Statement A letter from the manufacturer that states your business is an authorized distributor for MACERATOR (BNOE) listed above. Responses shall be sent via email, no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Thursday August 10, 2017. Telephone and facsimile responses will not be considered. Please send email responses to: brad.feagan@va.gov Salient Characteristics for Macerator Waste Management System The macerator unit must be designed for the disposal of fibre-moulded bedpans, urinals and other products containing human waste in a hospital environment. The lid on the macerator unit must open and close completely hands free via a foot sensor. The macerator unit must have an auto-start function that automatically starts the machine when the lid closes without having to push buttons to operate. The macerator unit must be a closed drum system and have a twin blade design to ensure waste products are broken down into a fine slurry. The macerator unit must include an integrated automatic anti-bacterial deodorizer. The macerator unit must be self-cleaning. The macerator unit must have a self-diagnosing display panel. The macerator unit must have a manual emptying override. The macerator must be energy efficient. The macerator unit must have a powerful (1kW or greater) three phase motor. The macerator unit must have a rapid cycle time (less than 5 minutes) The macerator unit must have soundproofing incorporated into the design for quite operation. The macerator unit must be fully interchangeable and compatible with the current macerator waste management systems used at the Boise VA Medical Center.
