- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health, Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Genevac Incorporated. The address is 815 State Route 208; Gardiner, NY 12525-5629. The purpose of this acquisition is to purchase the EZ-2.3 Elite Evaporation System. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1) - Brand name required. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing). The size standard is 1000 employees. The Government intends to purchase an EZ-2.3 Elite Evaporation System needed by the Clinical Chemistry Branch (CCB). Genevac Incorporated's elite evaporation system is used to fulfill the sample preparation needs in samples evaporation/concentration as part of the biomonitoring activities in measuring various analyte concentrations within the Hormones Project. The purchase of this new product is necessary due to the increased number of requests in sample analysis and the need to improve sample throughput in sample preparation is critical to continued ongoing biomonitoring studies within the Clinical Chemistry Branch. As a part of the standard operating procedures for the Hormones Project, the targeted analytes are being dissolved in solvents in a 96 deep well plate and the analytes are recovered after samples extraction steps through evaporation and sample concentration. This is a critical procedure for our existing biomonitoring methods because it ensures the recoveries of our targeted analytes are optimal and thus improving the signal intensity when the analysis takes place in the mass spectrometer. The hormones levels presence in patient samples are being monitored in various nation-wide studies, such as NHANES, in order to assess and improve the diagnosis of certain cancers and diseases of hormone excess and deficiency. CDC believes that Genevac Incorporated is the only source available that can fulfill the technical comparability, product constraints and maintenance service required by the Clinical Chemistry Branch. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Genevac Incorporated. Genevac Incorporated is the only source available to provide this service that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement. All responses must be sent in writing to Mr. Tim Williams via email to TLWilliams3@cdc.gov using solicitation number 2017-Q-67367 in the subject line, no later than 8:00am Eastern Time, August 21, 2017.
