Description
Amendment 003 Attachment Amendment 003 SF-30 The purpose of this Amendment is to provide clarifications and answers to questions received. Please review the attachment to Amendment 003. Note: Amendment 001 provided an option for performance through October, 2018. See Amendment 001 for specifics. Clarification: Electronic bid submissions will be accepted. You may email to ryan.lorimer@wdc.usda.gov or fax Attn. Ryan Lorimer to 907-761-7790. The due date remains 8/14/2017 at 17:00 CT. Q1: Is the Invitation Number blank on the Bid Bond form the same as the solicitation number? A1: YES Q2: In the specs you provided, in Section 21, Subsidiary Item-Excavation (2), it states "a trench box of 36-inch width is required for the entire route of pipeline installation and the full depth of the trench to minimize the area of disturbance within the work area." My question is, will you allow us to use a larger bucket? A2: Outside the area of East Sibley Park (0+00 to 14+50), it would be acceptable to utilize a larger bucket (a 54-inch bucket for example). NRCS would be willing to consider use of the larger bucket within the park in areas where additional damage to root systems of mature cottonwoods would not result. All additional material in terms of pipe bedding and thrust blocks resulting from use of a wider trench would be the responsibility of the contractor. Q3: Is the floating pump launched from the trailer? As is a boat? Is the trailer part of the floating pump skid? What is the maximum distance from the location of the VFD and the position of the floating pump skid? A3: The pump, trailer, floats, and fish screen are intended to be a single unit. Below is a photo (example only) of this style of pump, both in and out of the water. The pump intake and fish screen are on a crank that brings them up and down, and the wheels for the trailer similarly crank up and down. The maximum distance from the inlet riser for the permanent below ground pipeline to the top of the bank is listed as 200 feet maximum assuming this type of pump is used where the HDPE pipe is coupled to steel pipe at that point. We anticipate the electric service and VFD will be located within 30 feet of the inlet riser. From the VFD out to the actual pumping unit, then, the total distance should certainly be less than 300 ft (which is the length of temporary electric cable specified). All other terms and conditions remain the same.
