Description
Statement of Work NIHLM201701015-UHP It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM), to negotiate on a sole source with Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL), 2150 N 107th Street, Suite 205 Seattle, WA 98133-9009 to supports academic health sciences libraries and directors in advancing the patient care, research, education, and community service missions of academic health centers through visionary executive leadership and expertise in health information, scholarly communication, and knowledge management. AAHSL shall provide the following: 1) Introduce emerging academic health center library leaders to leadership theory and practical tools for implementing change at organizational and professional levels; 2) Develop meaningful professional relationships between fellows and mentors that give fellows access to career guidance and support; 3) Expose fellows to another academic health center library under the guidance of their mentors; 4) Examine career development and provide models of directors to potential future academic health center library directors; 5) Create a cohort of learners who will draw upon each other for support throughout their careers; and 6) Offer recognition to emerging leaders. **See attached Statement of Work for full description.** AAHSL membership is comprised of the libraries of the 147 accredited U.S. and Canadian medical schools belonging to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). AAHSL's programs and organizational structure are designed to enhance the success of their members in advancing health through recognized leadership in managing and utilizing the intellectual resources within and beyond their academic health centers (AHC). For over a quarter of a century, AAHSL has served as the premier association defining the future of AHC libraries. They focus their activities on stimulating continuous learning and development of their members and the services they provide to academic health centers. AAHSL's mission of enhancing their members' success is achieved through a variety of key goals accomplished through the collective efforts of the elected leadership of Board of Directors, AAHSL committees, task forces, and institutional liaisons. Since 2002, in response to a documented need to recruit and develop leaders in academic health center libraries, NLM and AAHSL initiated a jointly sponsored program, offered in cooperation with the Association of Research Libraries. The NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellows Program, focused on preparing emerging leaders for director positions. Responses to this posting must be submitted via NLM's Electronic Contract Proposal Submission (eCPS) system at https://ecps.nih.gov/nlm, no later than 4:30 p.m., (Eastern-Daylight Savings Time), Monday, August 21, 2017. To submit your electronic proposal using eCPS, all offerors must have a valid NIH External Directory Account, which provides authentication and serves as a vehicle for secure transmission of documents and communication with the NLM. The NIH External Directory Account registration process may take up to 24 hours to become active. Submission of proposals by facsimile or e-mail is not accepted.
