- GUAM QUARTERS 1 MINI-SPLIT AC UNITS INSTALLATION The USGS operates the Guam Magnetic Observatory at: USGS Guam Magnetic Observatory 1692B Kayen Medidan Lenao Dededo, Guam 96929 The Quarters 1 building is an approximately 1,400 square foot, single story, concrete reinforced residential structure with two bathroom and three bedrooms. Air conditioning is provided by four (4) existing mini split AC units. The scope of this project is to replace the existing unit in bedroom 2 and add a new unit in bedroom 1. Units will be high-efficiency, marine-climate models, 120 VAC single-phase, 9,000 BTU/h. The estimated magnitude of this project is less than $25,000.00. Payment protection will not be required. Performance bonds will not be required. The Construction Wage Rate Requirements Statute (prevailing wage, formerly the Davis-Bacon Act) does not apply. Contractors must have a current contractors' license issued by the government of Guam at the time quotations are due to be considered for award, and must use appropriately-licensed subcontractors on this project. The USGS contemplates award of a firm-fixed price contract. The request for quotation (RFQ) package, including a detailed statement of work, will be available approximately 08/24/2017. A site visit is scheduled for 08/30/2017; please RSVP by email to mdnelson@usgs.gov and jcaravelli@usgs.gov. Prospective contractors are strongly encouraged to visit the site prior to submitting a quotation. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS 2017) code is 238220, "plumbing, heating, and air conditioning contractors." The associated small business size standard is $15.0M in average (three year moving average) annual revenue. The applicable Product Service Code (PSC) is Z2AZ, "repair/alteration of other administrative facilities and service buildings." This immediate acquisition is set-aside for participation by small business concerns and there is no incumbent contractor.
