- This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). The National Institute of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a single source purchase order to Edstrom Industries, 819 Bakke Avenue, Waterford, WI, 53185, for the acquisition of an Edstrom BFP-675 Bottle Filler Proportioner. 1. Edstrom Model BFP-675 Bottle Filler Proportioner-(1 each) 2. Start Up and Training (1 each) The Edstrom BFP-675 system will be used in the Animal Facility to mix acidified drinking water for in-house research animals. The unit will give the Animal Facility the ability to help supply the volume of acidified drinking water to meet the current facility requirement. This system is compatible to the current water system configuration and does not require modification. For on-going research projects, compatibility and consistency with the current Edstrom acidification is crucial. The CMB/ARS is a vital part of the NIEHS research, therefore the ability to maintain consistent with this water system is important to the care of the in-house research animals. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 339999 "All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing" and a Size Standard of 500. The anticipated delivery time is 8 Weeks, ARO. NIEHS will solicit and negotiate directly with Edstrom Industries and no solicitation will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties must express their interest and must be submitted in writing via email to Valarie K. Sims at valare.sims@nih.gov and are due by 9:00 AM, August 15, 2017. No faxed documents will be accepted. If no responsive statements are received by the due date, an award will be made to Edstrom Industrial.
