Statement of Work Big Bend Left Tail Race Waterline Background The Big Bend Left Tail Race campground located on the Missouri River downstream of Big Bend Dam west of Fort Thompson, South Dakota has a waterline that was developed in segments over the years and it has had numerous extensions and maintenance issues. The line is fed by a well, storage tank and pump system. Objectives The objective is to replace the waterline with the new engineered design described below that will insure frost free performance, reduced maintenance costs, improved access to hydrants and better pressure. Scope The project consists of replacing the existing 3,000 feet of waterline at the Big Bend Left tail-race campground. The potable waterlines will range in size from 1-3". It will start at the existing pump facility and route to: two existing comfort stations, an existing restroom, an existing fish cleaning station and to 14 new frost‐free hydrants. An option to improve the system water pressure will be to install three pressurized water tanks and replace the 800 feet of waterline from the campground to the existing dump station. The old system will be abandoned in place. Tasks Plans and specifications detail the tasks below. • Replacing the existing 3,000 feet of waterline at the Big Bend Left Tail Race campground with potable waterlines ranging in size from 1-3". • Route the waterline and connect it to the existing: two comfort stations, a restroom, a fish cleaning station. Work includes installing all valves, check valves, valve boxes and other plumbing as required and repairs to any existing asphalt pads, roads, concrete curbs or other facilities impacted. • Install 14 frost‐free hydrants. • An option to improve the system water pressure will be to install three pressurized water tanks, one in each comfort station and one in the pump station. • Another option will be to replace about 800 feet of waterline to the dump station. Government-Furnished Property, Material, Equipment, or Information (GFP, GFM, GFE, or GFI) None Place of Performance Big Bend Left Tailrace Campground, Big Bend Dam, Fort Thompson, SD Period of Performance The estimated period of performance will be from September 4, 2017 to March 31, 2018, with the possible exception that the period of performance may be extend for the repair of any asphalt damaged during the construction.
