- *Please see attached for Intent to Single Source letter. The VA Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22 submits a notice of intent to award a single-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Mr. Joseph Douglas for quality improvement services on VA Geriatric education program. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) requires a contractor to provide geriatric education quality improvement to support the VA Geriatrics Scholars Program, which is administered at VAGLA Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), and collaborates with ten other GRECCs. The mission of the VA Geriatric Scholars Program is to improve access to quality healthcare for older Veterans and to address the lack of healthcare professionals who have been trained in geriatrics and gerontology by educating working clinicians in VA clinics nationwide. The program targets VA s interprofessional workforce with a focus on primary care providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants) and select disciplines that support primary care (pharmacy, social work and psychology). Service: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, transportation, equipment, supplies, and supervision to evaluate, manage the quality improvement component, collect data, compose executive level reports, create, revise, and disseminate education materials to the Department of Veterans Affairs nationwide, and create evaluation tools for the geriatric program for the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS).
