- US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District intends to award a sole-source, Firm-Fixed Price contract with Propulsion Systems Inc. 8009 7th Ave. S. Seattle, WA 98108. The purpose of this acquisition is to completely disassemble and evaluate the condition of the PSI port controlled pitch propeller (CPP) hub for the Dredge Essayons. The evaluation will include visually inspecting all components for suitability for reuse, measure all components in areas subject to wear for purposes of confirming tolerances remain within specification for reuse, verify straightness and concentricity on all surfaces as appropriate, and furnishing a detailed report with a cost estimate for recommended repairs. The current condition of the hub is suspect for degradation through wear and tear and in need of significant repair. The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is prescribed by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED. The Government intends to proceed with this sole source action. The NAICS code is 332999. The size standard as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration is 750 THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
