- Full Description PURSUANT TO FAR Subpart 5.2—Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions, THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE OF A PROPOSED CONTRACT TO ACTION. THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION NON-COMPETITIVE NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A CONTRACT OR PURCHASE ORDER WITHOUT PROVIDING FOR FULL OR OPEN COMPETITION (INCLUDING BRAND-NAME). The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Station Support Contracts and Simplified Acquisitions Branch (SS/SA) on behalf of the National Institutes of Mental Health intends to negotiate and award a contract for an Electrophoretic Tissue Clearing (ETC) System & Starter Kit, Polymerization System, Electrophoretic Tissue Clearing Solution, Mounting Solution, VA44 Initiator, 500g, Acrylamide 40% Solution, Putty Adhesive for making wells for cleared tissues, Quick Dry Adhesive for Sealing Holes, Dispensing Gun for Quick Dry Adhesive). Tissue clearing is a recently developed technique for making the tissue transparent. Brain clearing allows for efficient imaging of whole brains. Fluorescent or antibody labeled proteins can be visualized in the transparent brains. X-CLARITY system is the only commercial tissue clearing system. The X-CLARTIY is a system for simple, rapid, and efficient clearing of tissue. It is developed by Logos Biosystems and distributed through single regional distributors. The distributer for our region is VitaScientific, which is the only source through which we can purchase this system.
