- Description
- Justification and Approvals Letter Contract, FA4528-17-P-0053 The purpose of this requirement was to provide a virtual reality simulator (VRS) for 5 AMXS maintainers to train on deicing B-52 aircraft. On 19-Jul-17 a Sole Source Justifications and Approvals Letter was signed justifying the purchase of (VRS) from the awarded vendor as a Sole Source. IAW FAR 6.302-1 -- Only one responsible source exists that will satisfy agency requirements. This Simulator is an exact replica of the deice vehicle used by 5 AMXS which was procured from Global Ground Support (GGS). GGS is the sole supplier for the training devices for their equipment. The De-Icing simulator described in this requirement is a training device provided only by GSS. Additionally per statement received from GGS on 13 July 2017, "GSS VR Deicing simulator and associated software is... intellectual property" and "(GGS) does not have any third party distributors."
