- Juvenile Salmon Acoustic Telemetry System (JSATS) Transmitters Amendment to change specs and closing date This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. All questions must be sent directly to capplegate@usgs.gov by 08/21/2017. Contractor is responsible for reading the contents of this document and attachments. Quotes will be accepted via e-mail at capplegate@usgs.gov or FAX to (206) 526-6654. Quotes submitted through FedBizOps or FedConnect will not be considered. The solicitation number is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) G17PS00835. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-95, Effective 19 Jan 2017. Unrestricted NAICS: 334220; Airborne Radio Communications Equipment Manufacturing; Size Standard = 1,250 Employees Description of Supplies: As part of a juvenile salmon behavior study, the USGS - Columbia River Research Laboratory is in need of 310 each of Juvenile Salmon Acoustic Telemetry System (JSATS) tags for use in California. The Government seeks competitive firm fixed price quotes to meet or exceed the following minimum technical specifications for these telemetry units: - Transmitters must be compatible with JSATS autonomous acoustic receivers (model SR5000) built by Advanced Telemetry Systems (Isanti, MN), operating at 416.7 kHz with 65,536 possible tag ID codes. - Transmitters must weigh 0.43 g or less in air. - Maximum physical size of transmitter: 11.8mm(L) x 6.3mm (W) x 3.6mm (H). - Transmitters must have a typical power output of +156 dB (re: uPa @ 1meter) or greater. - Transmitters must have a MINIMUM tag life of 120 days or greater at a 10 second pulse interval. - Transmitters must have a biocompatible coating. USGS personnel will provide a list of 350 codes to program transmitters at the factory with a 10 second pulse interval after award. In addition to a quote, as per FAR 52.212-1, offerers are to include a technical description of the items being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation.
