- Intent to Sole Source Inpatient Pharmacy Automated Drug System The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to issue sole-source firm-fixed priced contract to Swisslog Logistics, Inc., 161 Enterprise Drive, Newport News, VA 23603. A sole source procurement will be issued to SwissLog Logistics, Inc. because they are the only vendor capable of providing the Inpatient Pharmacy Automated Drug System. This vendor has no third party vendors authorized to purchase or perform services for this equipment. In addition due to the specialized requested automation system all work it must be conducted by personnel with a high level of training and qualifications. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 8.405-6 (a)(1)(i)(B), limited sources. The NAICS code is 334111 and has a size standard of 1250 Employees for this procurement. SCOPE OF WORK: Vendor shall provide an integrated automation system that will store bulk pharmacy items as well as unit dose items. The equipment must have the ability to prepackage tablets into unit dose packaging and automatically store packaged medications for unit dose use. Vendor shall furnish all parts and expertise necessary to provide shared maintenance of the automated equipment at the Memphis VAMC. EQUIPMENT: Flexible configurations to accommodate all oral solids, liquids, ampules, vials, IVs, and bulk stock with minimum of 15% additional space to allow for future expansion Ability to have two or more users simultaneously stocking or retrieving medications Automatic restocking of returned unit dose medications Automatic removal of expired unit dose medications Ability to rotate unit dose medication stock to ensure the soonest-to-expire medications are used first in order to prevent unnecessary waste Ability to interface with VistA to dispense first doses and 24-hour supply of patient medications separated and grouped by patient and location Ability to interface with automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) software to dispense medications for restocking separated and grouped by cabinet location Ability to prepack vials, unit dose cups, ampoules, and syringes Ability to simultaneously dispense first doses as well as cart fill medications and return drugs Bulk storage must have ability to store refrigerated products Barcode restocking and dispensing to prevent medication errors Customized reporting system that tracks expired medications and improves inventory management Ability to log into system with I.D. badge barcode scan or biometrics Any internet based software programs will not transmit or store VA sensitive information Customer support and on-site repairs available 24 hours per day/7 days per week CLIN Supplies QTY 1)PILLPICK AUTOMATED PACKAGING AND DISPENSING SYSTEM WITH 33L20 DRUGNEST 1 2)PILLPICK PICKVIEW VISION SYSTEM 1 3) BOXPICKER AUTOMATED PHARMACY STORAGE SYSTEM WITH 6 MODULES AND 2 OPERATOR STATIONS AND 1/2 DUAL TEMP 1 4) ENTERPRISE BASE SOFTWARE PLATFORM (INCLUDES 3 INTERFACES,VISTA HIS, CABINET PROVIDER AND MCKESSON) 1 5) INVENTORY MANAGEMENT MODULE 1 This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 11am CST, August 18, 2017 to: edrick.thomas@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
