- Description
- Special Notice The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to negotiate an extension of the period of performance of the MACBIS contract HHSM-500-2007-00024I, Task Order HHSM-500-T0014 with Quality Software Services, Inc. on a sole source basis. The extension of the MACBIS task order will allow CMS to accelerate the implementation of State Plan Amendments (SPA) features into the Medicaid and CHIP Program System (MACPRO) so that the system can enable the user community to accelerate the SPA approval process through the automation of manual processes that exist today. The extension beginning on September 29, 2017 and continuing through September 28, 2018, executable as a 12 month base period, will provide CMS the flexibility and agility to safeguard our statutorily mandated operations, while facilitating a smooth transition between contractors. In addition to maintaining uninterrupted services, this extension will allow CMS to further define MACBIS requirements to meet the Agency's operational needs. CMS intends to engage in a competitive procurement and award a new contract in 2018. This sole source modification is being conducted pursuant to the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(d)(1)(B), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, that only one responsible source and no other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. This is not a Request for Proposal and no solicitation is available. All interested parties must respond in writing to support their ability to perform this work within 15 days after posting. A determination by the Government based on the response(s) received is solely within the discretion of the Government.
