Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The RFI is issued by the USDA, U.S. Vegetable Laboratory solely for information purposes. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any equipment. U.S. Vegetable Laboratory is only seeking companies that can provide this equipment described below. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay any cost incurred in response to this RFI. Please send your company information and specifications on your equipment to laurie.revard@ars.usda.gov or fax to 843-573-4715, Attn.: Laurie Revard if interested. The U.S. Vegetable Laboratory, 2700 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29414 is looking for a size selection system electrophoresis instrument that must meet all the following specifications: 1) fractionate DNA or solubilized protein samples using electrophoresis. 2) separate DNA or solubilized protein samples by size in an agarose gel column, followed by lateral electro-elution into 12 adjacently placed collection wells. 3) fractionation must be undertaken in disposable pre-cast gel cassettes. 4) be able to run up to two gel cassettes simultaneously. 5) have pulsed-field (field inversion) electrophoresis capabilities to enable separation of high molecular weight DNA. 6) DNA or protein fractionation profiles must be predicted with software. 7) have the ability to optically detect fluorescent dyes within samples. 8) be able to accept sample loads of randomly sheared genomic DNA in amounts up to 10 μꬶ. 9) be able to accept sample loads of protein samples up to 350 μꬶ.
