- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes “ it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. The Department of the Interior (DOI) intends to assess the responses to inform its decision-making. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Department of the Interior, Interior Business Center is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. The government will not pay for any information provided as a result of this notice and will not recognize or reimburse any cost associated with RFI submission. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor FedBizOpps website for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The Department of the Interior is seeking information on 14 CFR 91 pilots or, 121/135 Air Carrier vendors that can provide on-call contract pilots to operate Government owned single engine, fixed wing aircraft in various locations throughout the contiguous United States and Alaska. Aircraft being considered are Cessna 185, Cessna 206 and Cub Crafters Top Cub in the following configurations: Wheelplanes (tricycle and conventional landing gear), Floatplanes (straight floats and amphibious floats) and Skiplanes (straight skis and wheel skis). Offerors must be qualified in at least one of the configurations. Mission would include but are not limited to point to point transportation and reconnaissance. Some reconnaissance missions are performed low level (less than 500 feet AGL). Pilot requirements are as follows: 1.Be a U.S. Citizen. 2.Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificated commercial pilot with airplane single engine land and/or sea rating; and instrument “airplane rating or greater. 3.A minimum of a current second-class medical certificate issued in accordance with 14 CFR Part 67.
