This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A firm-fixed price purchase order is anticipated. (xvi) For information regarding the solicitation, please contact Jared Zinsmeister at jared.zinsmeister@va.gov Attachment (A) The facility Walla Walla VAMC requires a compact excavator in the 35 horsepower (27 KW) range to perform regular trenching and excavating activities to properly maintain the 72 acre grounds that or facility is comprised of. The facility has all underground utilities: water, electrical, signal, fiber optic, sewer, storm drains, dry wells, manholes, fencing and sign posts, trees and landscaping all requiring installation, maintenance, and removal at various times and efforts each time requiring the ability to excavate and backfill the soil and materials in the area(s). For the size of our facility this work can best be accomplished with a unit equivalent to the John Deere 50G Compact Excavator with a rubber track and suspension seat and enclosed cab with large front windshield for visibility; wide entry doors to eases entrance to/ exit from and a spacious operator station. Unit needs to include multifunction monitor displays of vital machine operating info, tracking engine and hydraulic oil maintenance intervals, and providing access to and control of auto shutdown and economy/power modes. Excavator and auxiliary hydraulics shall be controlled with standard joystick pattern. We require two heavy duty buckets one 12 (2.1 cu ft.) and one 24 (5.2 cu ft.), a hydraulic clamp for lifting object against the bucket, a planetary drive auger with two heavy duty rock bits in one 12 and one 24, with any necessary adapters and hydraulic quick connections installed for all attachments, we require a controllable angle blade for grading and backfill. Specifically, a unit that has a breakout force at the bucket of greater than 8,000 lb. and greater than 5,000 lb. at the arm, has a track that is 16 inches wide and greater than 8 in length, the blade for the front needs to be 15 tall and greater than 6 wide but less than 7 wide. Should include a service door providing easy access to side-by-side cooler cores, fuel filter/water separator, coolant overflow reservoir, battery, and electrical connections.
