North American Classification System (NAICS) Code: 325199 Small business size standard: 1,250 Classification Code: 68 - Chemical and Chemical Products Set-aside Status: This proposed acquisition is considered sole-source. Competition Status: This requirement is posted as non-competitive. Description: The purpose of this acquisition is to acquire 40, 25ug vials of 6XHIS-USP16 enzyme. The USP16 project aim is to develop a potent and selective inhibitor of USP16 for the purpose of developing a Down's Syndrome and Alzheimer's Disease therapeutic. USP16 is an active deubiquitizing enzyme encoded on chromosome 21, trisomy of which causes Down's Syndrome (DS). Increased USP16 protein levels in people with DS may contribute to the development of certain phenotypes of DS. The Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI) requires 6XHIS-USP16 enzyme to optimize assays and locate the proper inhibitor. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from this Request For Quotation (RFQ) to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the RFQ will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Refer to attached "Purchase Description Attachment" for the enzyme's salient characteristics, quantity, delivery date and evaluation criteria. Summary Statement: All responses to this request for quotation must be received by 5 PM Eastern Standard Time, on August 23, 2017 and must reference the announcement number specified above. In addition the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size must be included in the response.
