Description

WAD Generator Repair In connection with the performance of its potable water treatment program, the Washington Aqueduct Division maintains municipal water treatment plants at two locations in Washington, DC. The McMillan treatment plant located at 2500 First Street NW, Washington DC includes an emergency generator plant consisting of three (3) emergency generators each powered by a 12 cylinder Cummins diesel engine. The generator plant was installed in approximately 1988. The diesel engine for one of the generators has a major mechanical failure and requires rebuilding. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, proposes to procure, by means of full and open competition, services necessary for the repair work required for the emergency generator engine. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and non-personal services necessary to provide the diesel engine repairs required for the emergency generator to be returned to service. It is recognized that some or all of the repair work may be completed off site, i.e., that the contractor will remove the generator unit from the McMillan plant and complete the repairs in its own shop. The successful contractor must maintain a factory authorized service facility, with mechanics certified by Cummins Engine.
