- NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION: The Regional Health Contracting Office - Central, JBSA, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, intends to award on a sole source basis, a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order for Cochlear Implant items. The proposed North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339113, Surgical Appliance and Supplies Manufacturing, FSC - 6515, Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies, with a corresponding size standard of 750 employees. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of these Cochlear Implant items for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source in accordance with (IAW) FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to execute this award no later than 1 September 2017. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government's requirement, it may identify its interest and capability to the Contract Specialist by 28 August 2017. Interested firms must indicate whether they are large, small, identify any socio-economic classification, and state whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. In addition to the information listed above, the following are the salient characteristics for the required Surgical, Pharmaceutical, and Vision Care Products. A. All products must be FDA and TAA compliant. B. Must be able to provide a wide array of cochlear implants and accessories. C. Must have bone conduction implants D. Shall provide systems for high frequency deficient. E. Provide for conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, and single sided deafness F. Must have a range of implants and accessories for children ages 12 months - 17 years. G. Must have implants for sensorineural hearing loss and profound mid to high frequency hearing loss correction. H. Must have products for craniofacial malformations due to corrective surgery trauma and/or burns. The ordering period will not exceed 1 year.
