- Description
- The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has a need for: The CMCVAMC is in need of new histology glass slide printers for labelling anatomic pathology slide cases. The current system is old and is running an obsolete operating system. With the MDIA initiative we are being required to upgrade the system. The new Slidemate AS system does not require a computer or operating system. Everything is integrated into a small form factor design. The current system was bulky and required many cables which interfered with the technician s workspace. This requirement is necessary since our Regulatory agency requires certain information on the slide to identify the case. Since the cassette printer is manufactured by the same vendor purchasing the Slidemate AS system would be compatible with equipment already owned. The Government needs 5 on demand systems and 20 User/Service Contracts. This RFI uses the Slidemate brand name, however, the government is looking for all similar brands. Summary: The printers must be durable, small, and have the ability to print permanent slide information on the slide without being removed by paraffin waxes and other solvents used in the Histology Laboratory. The system must be capable of reducing specimen identification errors while enhancing lean workflow within the Histology Laboratory. The following options are required for this purchase: Fully integrated color touch-screen and simple software that s easy to use Build-in barcode scanner reads cassette information that imports the data to the slide label Connects easily to other computers or Laboratory Information Systems Prints directly onto the slide, eliminating the need for hand writing or labels The government is seeking all interested vendors; and specifically Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) in accordance with Vets First and the Rule of 2 (Kingdomware decision). If interested, please provide All SDVOSB and VOSB firms that respond shall include proof of CVE certification via www.vip.vetbiz.gov. All small business firms that respond shall include proof of small business status via their Representations and Certifications in accordance with (FAR 4.1102 Policy). While SDVOSB/VOSB contractors are preferred, all capable contractors are welcome to respond to this sources sought notice for market research purposes, and shall include a specification sheet with your submission.
