This request for information/sources sought notice is for planning purposes ONLY. The results of this market research will assist in the re-evaluation of the acquisition strategy in accordance with recent VA Procurement Policy guidance. VA assumes no responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice and does not guarantee an RFQ will follow. Veterans Health Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, is issuing this request for information/sources sought notice in order to identify small businesses, and specifically, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources that have the resources and capabilities to provide one (1) Brand Name or Equal A-DEC Dental hand piece part number 0.10014431 as defined below for the Coatesville, PA VA Medical Center. Salient Characteristics: This hand-piece is 64 mm long and weighs 57 grams with a 4:1 gear ratio. This allows for optimal ergonomic use by the Dental team to maximize visibility and minimize hand fatigue. It has electric prophy and disposable prophy angles. This hand-piece runs with 0.1 to 1 watt of power for periodontal procedures and 2-7.5 watts of power for scaling. To maintain infection control standards* and continuation of patient care, it is necessary to have twenty (20) additional hand pieces. The hand-pieces we are requesting are the same as what we already have in order to be compatible with the existing dental tubing, hoses and connections on our dental units. We are requesting brand name or equal to the A-Dec AP-44 Proxeo, Air, Prophy, 4:1 STR, T, Uni. The equal product would have to be able to have the same connection capability to existing dental units. Interested & Capable Responses NCO 4 is seeking responses from small businesses, particularly service disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) and veteran owned (VOSB), who are interested in this procurement and consider themselves to have the resources and capabilities necessary to provide this product. This is in accordance with the Supreme Court decision known as The Rule of Two. The VA will verify socio-economic status via VetBiz Registry.
