- Address: The survey area is located in and around the community of Dixie, Idaho approximately 80 miles SE of Grangeville, Idaho. The Dixie Work Center area is about 5 miles southwest of Dixie as shown on Map 1. The project area is characterized by relatively thick lodgepole pine forest with ocassional dense brush vegetation and some mineral soil visibility. Travel time from Grangeville to the project area (Dixie, Idaho) is approximately 2 ½ hours. Road and trail access is shown on Map 1, the project vicinity map. Road access to the project area is relatively good (Road 222, 222 D, 311, 311 A, and 1188). Other portions of the project area can be accessed by Forest Service trails #211, 212, 220 and 234., Dixie, Idaho, United States
