- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY ; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists. Pursuant to FAR Part 13 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action. The parts required must be a compatible with existing installed shipboard crane. The parts must reference manufacturer ID# 2D5-05063. No other parts will satisfy the Government's requirement. The material provided must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit, function) with existing systems presently installed. Anticipated NAICS Code/Size Standard: The applicable NAICS Code is 336611, Ship Building and Repairing and the size standard is 1,250 employees. Submission of Information: Companies having capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought notice including commercial market information and company information. All responses must include the following information: Company Name; Company Address; Company Business Size; and Point-of-Contact (POC) name, phone, fax number, and e-mail address. This synopsis is published for informational purposes and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting a written response to terry.shepard@navy.mil no later than 5 days after the date of the publication of this notice. The written response shall reference RFP# N50054-17-R-0031 and provide a capability statement that clearly indicates the firm's experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work without compromising quality, accuracy, reliability and schedule. The capability statement shall be submitted in MS WORD or Adobe PDF form as an email attachment. The Government will consider all capability statements received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contact. No telephone responses will be accepted. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. At this time no solicitation exists; therefore, Do Not Request a Copy of the Solicitation. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation notice and solicitation may be published on Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps for release of any future solicitation that may result from this Sources Sought Notice. However, responses to this Sources Sought Notice will not be considered adequate responses to any resultant solicitation.
