Terms & Conditions PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE Document Type: Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Solicitation Number: NOI-RML-E-1863570 Posted Date: 08/22/2017 Response Date: 08/30/2017 Set Aside: none NAICS Code: 334516 Classification Code: 66 This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with JAN Scientific. JANSi UVEX-p brightfield/UV fluorescence protein crystal inspection compound microscope system for SBS and Linbro plates. This system will be used in support of ongoing research at the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases (LID) to investigate hepatitis C virus (HCV), in determining how hepatitis C virus (HCV) glycoproteins with host cell receptors and broadly neutralizing antibodies, (2) exploring the mechanisms of viral polyprotein processing, and (3) examining how the innate immune system distinguishes self-versus viral RNAs. Place of delivery is Bethesda, MD 20892. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. All responsible sources that could provide comparable services may submit a capability statement that will be considered by email (subject line to reference NOI-RML-E-1863570) to Jesse Weidow at jesse.weidow@nih.gov, by 10:00 AM eastern standard time Monday, August 30th, 2017. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
