Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source to Stryker Instruments. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN -01, Network Contracting Office 01, intends to award a commercial (FAR Part 12) Large Business Sole Source contract with Stryker Instruments under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government anticipates award a Base Year plus four (4) option years, firm-fixed price contract. Stryker Instruments 4100 East Milham Road Kalamazoo, MI 49001 This acquisition is being processed as a Single Source requirement IAW FAR 6.302-1. The White River Junction VAMC has Stryker Surgical Equipment Systems that are already in use and that are only compatible with equipment that the White River Junction VAMC already has. These systems are critical to the facility and not having these systems available will have a direct impact on patient care. If products were purchased from another company, new equipment would also have to be purchased or leased to make sure everything is compatible. The cost and time of acquiring new equipment far exceeds the cost and efficiency of continued use of existing systems. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. This notice does not constitute an invitation for bids or a Request for Quote (RFQ) and is not a commitment by the U.S. Government to procure subject services. No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this notification. No solicitation package is available. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to these requirements by Tuesday 29 August 2017 in or before 1500/3:00PM Eastern Standard Time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will use the information received to determine whether other sources are available and capable of satisfying this requirement.
