- Description
- General RFI information and questions for Industry. Draft PWS for Industry Comment. The Government is requesting comments on a Draft Performance Work Statement and additional information to help shape an IT Infrastructure Operations Support Services (ITIOSS) requirement for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. PBGC contemplates issuing a single stand-alone Contract for this effort. The PBGC IT Infrastructure Operations Support Services (ITIOSS) DRAFT PWS for comment includes a wide range of IT professional services supporting a diverse technological environment. The list of technology domains includes: data center operations; network hardware and software including LAN/WAN and remote access; server hardware and software including physical and virtualized, as well as file/print, middle tier and application servers; database services and servers; storage solutions; end user hardware including PCs, laptops and tablets and end user software such as Office 365, PBGC-developed applications and other office automation software. Two areas of specific interest for comment in the PWS are cloud and mobile computing. In addition to limited task-specific, business-area driven cloud instances, PBGC has recently adopted cloud on an enterprise-wide basis for electronic mail, office automation, individual user data storage and shared, unstructured data storage. Mobile computing initiatives include the expansion of office automation to PBGC's iPhones and the introduction of SurfacePro 4 tablets. In addition to support associated with particular technology domains, ITIOSS also encompasses ancillary services such as limited end-user training, technology research, COOP/DR and the program management necessary to oversee all contracted tasks. Cybersecurity is a particularly critical ancillary service and ITIOSS provides both IT security operations support as well as IT security analysis, ISSO support and audit support. These supporting services are implemented as an integral part of the solution throughout the entire enterprise. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue a RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. PBGC is not currently seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the respondent's expense. Please see attached documents for additional information.
