Description
Solicitation The Phase V of the Blue River Basin (Dodson) is intended to complete the remaining features required to provide a fully functioning flood damage reduction project for the Dodson Industrial Park and complete the authorized project. Features include an earthen levee tie-in to connect the existing Boone Creek reach levee to the existing Bannister levee; an I-wall tie-in and associated earthwork to connect the existing Boone Creek levee to Prospect Blvd; earthen levee from Prospect to Hickman Mills rd, an I-wall tie-in and associated earthwork to connect the new levee to Hickman Mills rd; an I-wall to tie-in from an existing floodwall to an earthen levee; earthen levee from to new I-walls on either side of the 87th st connector; and earthen levee to the downstream terminus. Two gate well structures, one 30' water line relocation, one 16' sanitary sewer, and several smaller related features and appurtenances are also to be constructed. The earthen levee to be constructed will have a maximum height of approximately 30ft, but typical height is less than 20ft. The levee embankment will be constructed of compacted impervious fill placed on the riverside slope and random fill on the landside slope, with a 10 ft. crest width and 1(V) on 3(H) side slopes. The random fill will be covered with a topsoil to provide support for grass cover. Stability berms 30 ft. wide will be placed 20 ft. below the levee crest on both riverside and landside slope where the levee is taller than 20 ft. The stability berms will be constructed of random fill and covered with topsoil. Dynamic compaction will be utilized in areas where there are existing fill material in the foundation consists of largely non-organic debris in a soil matrix.
