The National Park Service has issued Modification 1 to the solicitation for proposals for Concession Contract BLRI001-18, a Business Opportunity for Craft Sales at Flat Top Manor in Moses Cone Memorial Park within the Blue Ridge Parkway. Modification 1 provides responses to questions submitted by the due date. Question : I’m wondering about the limited retail scope of sales on this contract… are there any park planning documents (GMP, Commercial Services Plan, Site Use Plan, etc.) that determined this limited scope of sales? If not, how is the Park placing this limitation (i.e. craft sales only) without discriminating? Answer: F lat Top Manor House opened to the public as a craft center in June of 1951 and craft demonstrations along with craft sales have been made available in the House during this time. T hree planning documents address crafts at the Manor House. These documents are as follows: Blue Ridge Parkway Long-Range Interpretive Plan (January 2003), Final General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement (January 2013), and Moses H. Cone Memorial Park Developed Area Management Plan/Environmental Assessment (January 2015).
