This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. Background: The mission of the NCGC is such that successful realization of the ambitious and complex goals of this center requires an intermingling of scientific disciplines; namely biology, informatics and chemistry. The long term goals are to develop chemical probes for every protein encoded by the genome, and to identify the complement of chemical space that is needed to cover all of biological space. Mission one for the chemistry team is the follow-up and optimization chemistry on actives derived within the screening network. In order to successfully accomplish this mission, the chemistry team must be capable of the fast and efficient synthesis and purification of small molecules. Thus, the use of numerous state of the art instrumentations continues to be a necessity for the NCGC chemistry team to accomplish its mission. We are engaged in various research activities, including, but not limited to, high-throughput screening, parallel synthesis, assay optimization and bio-conjugate preparation. This request is for two Sartorius Cubis Balance with an ionizer built in so that static will not interfere with the weighing of chemical compounds. Our staff currently has twelve of these units currently in use. They are located in labs A248, C211W, and C217W. Thus, our staff is familiar with the use and care of this specific apparatus which aids in the longevity of this equipment and reduces long term costs of maintenance. Initial training periods are also unnecessary, eliminating added time and waste. Sartorius incorporates a analytical balance draft shield with an integrated ionizer to eliminate electrostatic chargers and learning capabilities. Sartorius also incorporates fully Automatic Motorized Leveling.A touch of a button allows leveling or Fully automatic when the isoCAL function is activated. Purpose and Objectives: The purpose of this acquisition is to procure the Sartorius Cubis Balance that would replace the existing balances which are rusted and not very accurate. The Sartorius Cubis Balance has an ionizer built in so that static will not interfere with the weighing of chemical compounds. This balance has an internal self-leveling and an iso-calibration to insure the accuracy of the measurements. Delivery Schedule: Within 5 weeks after receipt of order (ARO). Project Requirements: Salient characteristics: See Purchase Description. Quantity: Two (2) Capability statement /information sought. Please provide a capability statement, this includes: •Provide evidence the respondent has performed services. •Provide evidence of similar previous contracts of research of the same magnitude. •Information regarding (a) staff expertise, including their availability, experience, and formal and other training; (b) current in-house capability and capacity to perform the work; (c) prior completed project of similar nature; (d) corporate experience and management capability; and (e) examples of prior completed Government contracts, references, and other related information. Please provide your DUNS number, organization name, address point of contact, and size and type of business (e.g., 8(a), HubZone, etc.,) pursuant to the applicable NAICS code and any other information that may be helpful. One (1) copy of the response is required and must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format using 11-point or 12-point font, 8-1/2" x 11" paper size, with 1" top, bottom, left and right margins, and with single or double spacing.
