Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) August 24, 2017 SPECIAL NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE SOLO-STEP, INC. FALL PROTECTION AND SAFETY SYSTEM VA701-17-Q-0092 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) requires: Solo-Step Fall Protection and Safety System with installation for use during studies of novel devices and ambulatory tasks found in daily ambulation. The Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC), National Activations Office (NAO) intends to issue a sole source solicitation to Solo-Step, Inc. 558 River Dr, North Sioux City, SD 57049 requesting the 19 X 11 L Shape, 7.7 X7.5 Oval & 7.5 Straight Three System Package. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Contracting Officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available and FAR 19.201(a) It is the policy of the Government to provide maximum practicable opportunities in its acquisitions to small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns. The NAICS code for this procurement is 339112 and the Small Business Administration Size Standard is 1,000 employees. Solo-Step, Inc. does not have authorized distributors, and therefore cannot guarantee that product warranty would be honored if purchased through a third party. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting all requirements may submit a quotation which may be considered by the agency only if received by the closing date and time of this notice. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
