Amendment 2 UPDATE 8/25/2017 This update posts Amendment 2 *************************************** UPDATE 8/25/2017 This update provides notice of the Government's intent to issue Amendment 2 deleting Schedule Item 55704 and providing these items as Goverment Furnished to be delivered to Excursion Inlet by the Government. Additional details will be provided in Amendment 2 when it is posted (expected to be posted by COB 8/25/17) *************************************** UPDATE 8/23/2017 This update posts Solicitation Amendment 1 *************************************** UPDATE 8/22/2017 The Forest Service anticipates posting additional questions and answers on Wednesday, 8/23/2017. The due date for submission of proposals is extended through Tuesday 8/29/2017 at 3:30 p.m. *************************************** UPDATE: 8/22/2017 The packing list referenced in the 8/21 update is attached. *************************************** UPDATE: 8/21/2017 A packing list is available with a list of all government furnished bridge components being shipped by barge by Alaska Marine Lines to Excursion Inlet for this project. FBO is currently experiencing technical difficulties and will nowtallow the uploading of documents. The list will be uploaded to FBO as soon as possible. *************************************** UPDATE: 8/17/2017 Questions and Answers Posted UPDATE: 8/11/2017 This update posts the RFP and all attachments. UPDATE: 8/8/2017 This updates the presolicitation notice by providing additional informaiton including additional documents. 1. Signed project plans are attached. These replace the draft plans previously posted. 2. Draft Forest Service Supplemental Specifications are attached. 4. An aerial view photograph of the Ocean Beauty Cannery in Excursion Inlet is attached for information. This is the location where the government furnished bridge will be delivered and staged/stored. 3. Site Visit: Site visits do not need to be arranged ahead of time with a Forest Service representative. Interested Parties may contact the Ocean Beauty Cannery in Excursion Inlet for a visit to the loading dock area where the government furnished bridge will be delivered and staged/stored. Cannery contact is Mr. Tom Marshall at 907-771-4820. 4. Ocean Beauty Cannery may be available to provide housing and/or other facilities or services. Any arrangements between contractors and the cannery are the responsibility of the contractor. 5. A bid guarantee will be required in the amount of 20% of the total proposal price. 6. The government anticipates issuance of a request for proposals no later than August 11, 2017 with a 2 week response period. 7. The period of performance will be from date of award with completion no later than December 31, 2017. ******************************************* This is a presolicitation notice for removal of an existing timber bridge and construction of a government provided prefabricated steel truss bridge in Excursion Inlet near Juneau Alaska. The existing bridge was closed to vehicular traffic on July 8, 2016 for reasons of public safety. This project is located in the Tongass National Forest on National Forest System Road No. 8552 at Mile Post 1.5 in the Juneau Ranger District approximately 37 miles from Juneau, Alaska. The work consists of installing a government furnished Acrow Series 300 modular bridge superstructure by launching. This work involves clearing and grubbing, erosion control, structure excavation, roadway resurfacing and embankment, removing and disposign of existing timber bridge, removing and disposing of rock-filled steel enclosed piles, development of two rock pits, furnishing and installing timber foundations, tranporting a government furnished bridge from the loading docks at Excursing inlet approximately 2 miles to the bridge site, erecting a steel truss bridge, and furnish all other incidental items necessary to complete the project. The government furnished bridge will be transported by the Forest Service by barge from Auburn, WA and delivered to the loading dock area at Excursion Inlet. The bridge is expected to be shipped and delivered to Excursion Inlet in four (4) 45,000 lb flats. The magnitude of constructions is as follows: Base - Between $100,000 and $250,000 Option 1 (Removal of existing filled stell drum casing columns) - Less than $25,000 Due to the immediacy of this requirement due to public safety concerns of the existing bridge, the government expects the solicitation to be posted within the next 7 days with a maximum 2 week response time. A draft copy of the project drawings is attached for review and comment. Interested parties are invited to submit questions to the primary point of contact.
