- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE 1. Solicitation Number: HHS-NIH-NIDA-SSSA-SS-2017-773 2. Title: Shim Amplified MXW-7 System for a Small Animal Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner 3. Classification Code: 66 - Instrument and Laboratory Equipment 4. NAICS Code: 334516 5. Description: This is a Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. This notice is issued to help determine the availability of qualified companies technically capable of meeting the Government requirement and to determine the method of acquisition. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. Responses will not be considered as proposals or quotes. No award will be made as a result of this notice. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by the respondents to this notice. This notice is strictly for research and information purposes only. Background: The Cerebral Microcirculation Section (CMS) investigates the mechanism of neurovascular coupling, which is the foundation of many functional imaging modalities including functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The current shim power supply plays a crucial role in reducing the magnetic field in homogeneities for an existing Bruker BioSpec 7T/30 MRI scanner for imaging awake marmosets. A Shim Amplified MXW-7system is required to replace an existing power supply to maintain MRI scanner functionality. Purpose and Objectives: The purpose of this requisition is to acquire a Shim Amplified MXW-7 system to upgrade an existing shim power supply system for a Bruker BioSpec 7T/30 small animal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner. Project requirements: Contractor shall provide the CMS one (1) Shim Amplifier MXW-7 system [Resonance Research Inc. part numbers: MXW-6R-BB, FPA-6 S, MX-INSTAL] as follows: 1. MXW-7R-BB: Shim amplifier compatible with Bruker MRI Console and RRI shim • Multichannel shim current amplifiers Broadband current sources • 7 x 10 A/channel (12 slots available) • Settling in 250 us (load dependent) • 30 ppm/day stability • Serial communication RS-232 for status control • Analog input, differential +/- 10v • 48 V DC max compliance • 96 V AC max compliance • 40 A max DC combined output • Power 3 phase, 400 V, 50/60Hz @ 20A or 208 V @ 30A (specify) • Water cooling quick disconnect fittings • Interlock to water cooling • Interlock to temperature monitoring • Cables, shim amplifiers to filter panel • 19" 38 U cabinet included • Z0 compensation analog input (optional) 2. FPA-8 S: Filter panel and output cables compatible with Bruker • 16 channels of absorptive filters • 8 channels of differential filters • 10A /channel capacity • Cables, filter panel to shim coil • Cable, Temperature monitoring 3. MX-INSTAL: Product installation and integration • Installation and integration of system • Transportation and local expenses included • Up to 2 days on site Anticipated Delivery Date: Contractor shall deliver and install a Shim Amplifier MXW-7 System within 90 days after receipt of order. Delivery is F.O.B. destination. An original equipment manufacturer (OEM) certified service technician shall be provided to perform setup, installation, calibration and personnel training in system configuration. Capability statement /information sought: Contractors that believe they possess the ability to provide the requirement should submit a capabilities statement on their ability to meet each of the project requirements to the Contract Specialist. The Contractor shall directly and specifically state, in the capabilities statement, which project requirements can be meet and/or supplied. The Contractor must also provide their DUNS number, organization name, address, point of contact, and size and type of business (e.g., 8(a), HubZone, etc., pursuant to the applicable NAICS code and any other information that may be helpful in developing or finalizing the acquisition. The information submitted must be must be in and outline format that addresses each of the elements of the project requirement and in the capability statement /information sought paragraphs stated herein. A cover page and an executive summary may be included but are not required. One (1) copy of the response is required and must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format using 11-point or 12-point font, 8-1/2" x 11" paper size, with 1" top, bottom, left and right margins, and with single or double spacing. The response is limited to two (2) page limit. The 2-page limit does not include the cover page or executive summary. The response must include the respondents' technical and administrative points of contact, including names, titles, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. All responses to this notice must be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist. Facsimile responses are NOT accepted. The response must be submitted to Michelle Morelli, Contract Specialist, at michelle.morelli@nih.gov. The response must be received on or before September 1, 2017, 1 PM, Eastern Time. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate.
