DESCRIPTION: This is a sources sought announcement. This announcement is in support of market research to determine the feasibility of a competitive acquisition and to identify potential sources that can provide the overhaul of the following item: NOMENCLATURE: Gearbox, Tail Rotor INPUT NSN: 1615-01-155-6583 1615-01-507-5294 1680-01-254-7793 OUTPUT NSN: 1615-01-507-5294 INPUT P/N: 7-311340001-3 7-311340001-9 7-311340001-5 OUTPUT P/N: 7-311340001-9 ESTIMATED QUANTITY RANGE: Minimum 10 each - Maximum 84 each (Maximum includes a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Quantity of 14 each) The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336413 and the size standard is 1250 employees. Interested parties who have the capability to perform the above effort should respond to this notice and identify your business size and socio-economic status as applicable. All submissions must include full company name, Point of Contracts (POCs) to include name, position, office, and mobile telephone numbers and email address. The Gearbox, Tail Rotor is a Critical Safety Item (CSI). Technical data to include a Depot Maintenance Work Requirement (DMWR) is available for this effort. The proposed procurement is for services and supplies which cannot be obtained through full and open competition because limited sources are capable of satisfying the Agency's requirements, FAR 6.302-1. The effort is limited to Timken Aerospace Transmissions, Manchester, CT, 06042-2879, CAGE Code: 15152; and The Boeing Company, MESA, AZ, 85215-9707, CAGE Code: 8V613 the only known sources capable of performing this work in the timeframe required to satisfy the Army's minimum needs. All interested sources must meet prequalification requirements in order to be eligible for award. Contractors are encouraged to seek Source Approval Request (SAR) in order to become an approved source by submitting documentation in accordance with the Competition Advocate's Shopping List procedures. This announcement does not constitute a RFP. A synopsis will be issued at a later date for this requirement. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requested. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. This announcement does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government reserves the right to consider acquisition strategies as deemed appropriate.
